      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Use <b class="uiTerm">Solid Patch</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/ico_t_solid_patch.gif" border="0"> when it is easier to fill an opening by modeling a solid on the parting part than by constructing sheets. &nbsp;&nbsp;

      <p class="para_topic">Before you can use <b class="uiTerm">Solid Patch</b>, you must model a solid in the parting part to fit the opening with faces at the correct angles for shut-offs. <b class="uiTerm">Solid Patch</b> unites one or more solid bodies to the parting part model to close off open areas and optionally links the selected solids to one or more destination parts. 
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">When you create a solid patch, you can link the patch to all parts that have certain attributes. You select the attributes in the Destination Components list, and the software links the solid patch to all parts with the selected attributes. You can change the Destination Components list by editing the <i class="fileName">mw_attribute.xls</i> spreadsheet. &nbsp;
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can also link patch bodies later, by using <b class="uiTerm">Link Body</b>. When you select <b class="uiTerm">Link Body</b>, you cannot perform any Boolean operations. You first select one or more patch bodies, and then select one or more attributes from the Destination Components list. Every part with any of the selected attributes gets a linked copy of each selected patch body.
