      <p class="para_division">To access the <b class="uiTerm">Bead</b> dialog box in the insert mode:

               <p class="para_td">Lets you place a bead weld on the reference sheet along a specified location or path. (See <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/ref_fsel.html');return(false);">Face Selection</a> for tips on face selection.)

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Along Guide Curve</b>: Lets you select a guide curve on which to place the bead. The <b class="uiTerm">Previous</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Next</b> buttons are unavailable when this option is selected. This option allows you to select curves that are in the part file (either piece part or assembly). In case more than one guide curve needs to be selected, select all the curves in a series, without gaps between them. The guide curve you select is projected onto the reference sheet, thus creating reference curves.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Offset from Guide Edge</b>: Lets you select reference edge(s) from the reference sheet, and specify offset distance from this edge. The <b class="uiTerm">Previous</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Next</b> buttons are unavailable when this option is selected. In case you need to select two or more reference edges, select the start edge and end edge from the reference sheet. The bead weld is created on the overlap area with the specified offset distance from reference edges. In case two or more reference edges are to be selected, either select all the edges, or select the first and last edge from the overlap face.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">When you select <b class="uiTerm">Place on Center Line</b>, the reference curves are obtained by projecting the center spline (that was created by using a set of input edges) on to the reference sheet. This option lets you select two sets of edges from the reference sheet that are highlighted in the graphics window. Each set contains a start and end edge for that set (Some sets may have only one edge). All the intermediate edges are automatically selected. The bead weld is created in the reference sheet area, between the two sets of selected reference edges.
               </p>
            </td>
         </tr>
         <tr>

               <p class="para_td">Lets you set the extents for the bead weld.</p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Entire Length</b>: Allows you to create a bead weld for the entire length (minus the <b class="uiTerm">Distance from Ends</b>) of intersection of the two bodies.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Set Ends</b>: After you choose <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>, the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.popUpPage('shared_func/index.html?goto=shared_func/com_ptcon_d.html&vars=-aux,-home','linkInter','menubar=yes,status=yes,resizable=yes,toolbar=yes,scrollbars=yes,location=no,directories=no');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Point</b></a> dialog box appears, asking you to set two points on the intersection curve. The bead weld will be created between these two points. If the specified set point lies on the end point of the intersection curve, the minimum edge distance will be applied for that point.
               </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Continuous</b>: Allows you to create a bead weld continuously between specified extents (<b class="uiTerm">Entire Length</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Set Ends</b>). When you choose this option, the <b class="uiTerm">Spacing</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Number of Welds</b>, and <b class="uiTerm">Segment Length</b> options are unavailable.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Skip</b>: Lets you create skip bead welds between specified extents (<b class="uiTerm">Entire Length</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Set Ends</b>).
               </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Spacing</b>: Allows you to specify the distance between two consecutive bead welds. The default value is taken from the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/preferences.html');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Weld Preferences</b></a> dialog box. When this option is on, <b class="uiTerm">Number of Welds</b> is unavailable.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Number of Welds</b>: Allows you to specify the number of bead welds. When this option is on, <b class="uiTerm">Spacing</b> is unavailable. The default value for this field is 2. This option is on by default.
               </p>

            <p class="para_item">Click the <b class="uiTerm">Bead</b> button <img align="bottom" src="graphics/icon_bead.gif" border="0"> on the <b class="uiTerm">Weld Assistant</b> toolbar. The <b class="uiTerm">Bead</b> dialog box appears, and you are cued to select the first set of faces.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/asm_bead.html#asm_asm_bead_asmb_dlg_type');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Type</b></a>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Define associativity for the weld. Turn <b class="uiTerm">Associative Output</b> on to create an associative weld. Otherwise, turn it off.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/asm_bead.html#asm_asm_bead_asmb_dlg_gsel');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Face</b></a> selection icon <img align="bottom" src="graphics/icon_fsel.gif" border="0">, and select the first set of faces. Click the <b class="uiTerm">Next</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_down.gif" border="0"> button and select the next set of faces. You must select a minimum of two sets of faces, each set comprising at least one face. Use the <b class="uiTerm">Previous</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_up.gif" border="0"> and <b class="uiTerm">Next</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_down.gif" border="0"> buttons to traverse through face sets. You can place the bead weld on the reference sheet using any of the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/asm_bead.html#asm_asm_bead_asmb_dlg_loc');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Location</b></a> options. In case several overlap bodies are created, the <b class="uiTerm">Previous</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Next</b> Reference Sheet buttons are made available for you to traverse through overlap bodies. In case of a single overlap body, these buttons appear insensitive.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/asm_bead.html#asm_asm_bead_asmb_dlg_scf');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Reference Edges/Curves</b></a> if you are creating an associative bead weld. The label automatically updates to <b class="uiTerm">Select Curves</b> when the <b class="uiTerm">Along Guide Curve</b> location option is selected. For the other two location options, the option label remains <b class="uiTerm">Select Edges</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/asm_bead.html#asm_asm_bead_asmb_dlg_spec');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Specification</b></a> (attribute) for the bead weld.
            </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Specify the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/asm_bead.html#asm_asm_bead_asmb_dlg_loc');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Location</b></a>. The <b class="uiTerm">Along Guide Curve</b> location option appears selected by default.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">In your graphics window, select curves and edges according to the <b class="uiTerm">Location</b> option chosen in the <b class="uiTerm">Bead</b> dialog box.             </p>
         </li>

This option is available when you select the <b class="uiTerm">Offset from Guide Edge</b> location option.

If you select <b class="uiTerm">Set Ends</b>, the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.popUpPage('shared_func/index.html?goto=shared_func/com_ptcon_d.html&vars=-aux,-home','linkInter','menubar=yes,status=yes,resizable=yes,toolbar=yes,scrollbars=yes,location=no,directories=no');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Point Constructor</b></a> dialog box appears after you click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>. Use the <b class="uiTerm">Point Constructor</b> dialog box to set the end points for the bead weld, and click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>.

         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Enter the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/asm_bead.html#asm_asm_bead_asmb_dlg_dist');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Distance from Ends</b></a> and choose the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/asm_bead.html#asm_asm_bead_asmb_dlg_meth');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Method</b></a>.
            </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">If you choose the <b class="uiTerm">Skip</b> method, specify the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/asm_bead.html#asm_asm_bead_asmb_dlg_skp');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Skip</b> options</a>. These options appear grayed out for the <b class="uiTerm">Continuous</b> method.

            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> to create the weld and exit the dialog box. Or click <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> to create the weld and keep the <b class="uiTerm">Bead</b> dialog box open.

      <p class="para_division">The bead weld is created.</p>

      <p class="para_division">In the <b class="uiTerm">Edit</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Feature</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Edit Parameters</b> dialog box, or in the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.popUpPage('modeling/index.html?goto=modeling/partnav_overview.html&vars=-aux,-home','linkInter','menubar=yes,status=yes,resizable=yes,toolbar=yes,scrollbars=yes,location=no,directories=no');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Part Navigator</b></a>, choose the bead weld feature to edit . The selected weld feature is highlighted in the graphics window. The <b class="uiTerm">Bead</b> dialog box appears in the edit mode.

The current set is highlighted in the graphics window. The current set is highlighted in the graphics window. Use the <b class="uiTerm">Previous</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_down.gif" border="0"> and <b class="uiTerm">Next</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_up.gif" border="0"> buttons to traverse through sets till no faces are highlighted. This indicates that you can now select faces for a new set.
