      <p class="para_division">Using <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Welding</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Import Welds</b>, you can import spot weld locations from other weld or legacy systems, using a spreadsheet file (.csv format) as a transport mechanism. (See <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/im_sample.html');return(false);">Sample.csv</a>)
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">The weld spots thus created are nonassociative frozen welds, meaning they are not attached to any face and do not have any creation geometry associated with them. After the spot welds are imported you may associate them with existing face data by editing the spots. This will make them full functioning weld features that may be edited, annotated or shared with other applications. You can import Arc Spot, Resistance Spot, and Clinch welds from the spreadsheet.</p>
      <p class="para_division">To import these welds, the header information in the .csv file must contain the mandatory details listed below:</p>

            <p class="para_item">Weld_Type</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">X_Pos</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Y_Pos</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Z_Pos</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Number of sheets welded/connected</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_division">The file may also contain the following optional details:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Connected Part 1</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Connected Part 2</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Connected Part 3</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_division">If information about the number of sheets and connected parts is available, weld points are grouped and placed in a single feature set, depending on the information. If not, individual spots form the feature set. </p>
      <p class="para_division">Upon import a checking mechanism will identify any weld spot that violates the following rules and the import will fail:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">No duplicate weld ID's can exist in the CSV file.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">No conflict between weld ID's in the existing work part with those being imported from the CSV.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Imported weld ID and Group ID's must fall within the specified range identified by the appropriate weld preference setting.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division">You will need to correct the condition and then run Import again.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">The number of connected parts depends upon the number of sheets welded. For instance, if two sheets have been welded, there will be only two connected parts - Connected Part 1 and Connected Part 2.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">The ID column can not be the first column in the spreadsheet in the CSV file. This leads to a SYLK error when the file is opened in Microsoft Excel.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Click the <b class="uiTerm">Import Welds</b> button <img align="bottom" src="graphics/icon_import.gif" border="0"> on the <b class="uiTerm">Weld Assistant</b> toolbar.
