      <p class="para_topic">The Part Name Management System is a system for setting detailed configuration of component names. The part naming functions are defined by rules that are set under the <b class="uiTerm">Mold Wizard Customer Defaults</b> option in the<b class="uiTerm"> NX Customer Defaults</b> utility. For more information, see <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('moldwizard/moldwizard_defaults.html');return(false);">Setting Defaults and Preferences</a>.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Operation of the Part Name Management System</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Part Name Management dialog appears when new components are added to the Mold Wizard project assembly.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Name Rule</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Name Rule field specifies the combination of characters and variables that are combined to form the new part name. The default name rule is defined by MW_PART_NAME_RULE in<b class="uiTerm">Mold Wizard Customer Defaults</b> .
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Next Number</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Next Number field specifies a number that replaces the question mark characters (???) in the Name Rule. For example, if you enter the number 100 in the Next Number field, then use Set All Name or Set Selected Names button, the ??? is replaced with the numeric characters starting from 100. The name of each successive template part is automatically raised to the next higher number.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Original Names</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Original Names window displays the names of template parts.</p>
      <div class="title_division">New Names</div>
      <p class="para_division">The New Names window displays the names that are assigned to the component when it is added to the Mold Wizard assembly. </p>
      <p class="para_division">There are three ways to alter the names in the New Names window.</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Set All Names button</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Set Selected Names button</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">New Part Name field</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">Set All Names</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Set All Names button applies the file naming rules to all components listed in the Original Names window.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Set Selected Names</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Set Selected Names button applies the file naming rules to all components selected in the Original Names window.</p>
      <div class="title_division">New Part Name</div>
      <p class="para_division">The New Part Name field lets you enter a custom name for a part that is selected in the Original Names window. </p>
      <p class="para_division">The procedure to enter a custom name is as follows:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the part to be renamed in the Original Names window.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Type the new name into the New Part Name field.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Press the Enter Key (the entry in the New Part Name field is set).</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Name Conflict with Existing files</div>
      <p class="para_division">In some cases, files that Mold Wizard attempts to create match files that already exist in the project directory. If matching names are found, the Part Name Management System flags the conflicting names with an * symbol. To continue, you must change the name of the conflicting files.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Part Name Management Dialog Display option during Project Initialization.</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Part Name Management dialog can be set to display automatically when each file is created by setting the MW_DISPLAY_RENAME_DIALOG variable in <b class="uiTerm">Mold Wizard Customer Defaults</b>. However, the Project Initialize dialog provides an option to overrule the default setting. The Rename Dialog check box overrules the MW_DISPLAY_RENAME_DIALOG default option.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Setting the Part Name Definition Rules in Mold Wizard Customer Defaults</div>
      <p class="para_division">The MW_PART_NAME_RULE default setting determines the rules that set the names of files that are cloned and renamed by Mold Wizard. The rules combine a series of variables and characters to form the part names.</p>
      <p class="para_division">A sample file naming rule is:</p>
      <p class="para_division">&lt;PROJECT_NAME&gt;-&lt;TEMPLATE_NAME&gt;-????-A</p>
      <p class="para_division">The rules are interpreted as follows:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">All alphanumeric characters are valid except:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">?</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">&lt;</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">&gt;</p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Words contained between &lt; and &gt;, such as &lt;PROJECT_NAME&gt; are variables.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The ? character is a graduated or user defined variable.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The standard variables are:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">&lt;PROJECT_NAME&gt; - (set during project initialization)</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">&lt;TEMPLATE_NAME&gt; - &nbsp;(the name of the template part being cloned)</p>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">Displaying Part Name Management Dialog</div>
      <p class="para_division">The MW_DISPLAY_RENAME_DIALOG option determines if the Part Name Management dialog is displayed when new parts are added to a Mold Wizard project.</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">1 = The dialog displays automatically when a new part is added.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">0 = The dialog does not display.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division">Example: MW_DISPLAY_RENAME_DIALOG: 1</p>
      <div class="title_division">Naming in the Teamcenter Integration Environment</div>
      <p class="para_division">For users working in the Teamcenter Integration environment, a Teamcenter Engineering option may be in the Part Name Management dialog box. The following preference in <b class="uiTerm">Mold Wizard Customer Defaults</b> determines whether the Teamcenter Engineering Number option is automatically checked in the dialog:
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">MW_NAME_IMAN_NUMBER</p>
      <p class="para_division">The &lt;????&gt; characters in the component part name are replaced with a unique six digit number supplied by Teamcenter Engineering.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Determine How Teamcenter Engineering is Used</div>
      <p class="para_division">The following options are available to setup the method for applying the name rule to DB_PART_NAME and DB_PART_NO in the Teamcenter Integration environment.</p>
