      <p class="para_topic">When you're constructing a mold for plastic products, sometimes undercut areas need to be formed by sliders or lifters. The Slider Lifter function provides an easy way to design the sliders and lifters you need.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">From the structure point of view, sliders and lifters are mainly composed of two parts, the head and body. The head is dependent on the product shape. The body is composed of customizable standard parts.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Head Design</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can create slider or lifter heads by using the Solid Head method or Trim Body method.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Solid Head</div>
      <p class="para_division">To use the solid head method to create a slider or lifter head, use Mold Wizard Tools&rarr;Solid Split functionality. After you create the solid head in a core or cavity and add the slider or lifter body, you can link the head into the slider or lifter body part and unite it with the body. You can also create a new component and link the head to the new component.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The solid head method is often used in slider head design.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Trim Body</div>
      <p class="para_division">To create a trim body:</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Add the slider or lifter to the mold base.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Set the main body of the slider or lifter as the work part.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Use NX Assembly&rarr;Wave Geometry Linker to link the core or cavity parting surface to the current work part.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Trim the main body of the slider or lifter with the part surface.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Body Design</div>
      <p class="para_division">Slider and lifter bodies are usually composed of several components such as the main body, guides, etc. These components are assembled by the NX Assembly function. The sizes of sliders and lifters are controlled by the dimensions. The assembly of sliders or lifters can be looked at as standard parts. Therefore, standard part methods are used for slider and lifter design. The following figure is an example of a slider body.</p>

      </table><br><p class="para_division">Mold Wizard provides several typical slider and lifter structures. Because the Standard Parts function is designed as an open structure, you can add your own slider and lifter structures into Mold Wizard.&nbsp;</p>
      <div class="title_division">Registering Sliders and Lifters</div>
      <p class="para_division">Slide and lifter files are stored in the directory .../moldwizard/slider_lifter. &nbsp;All sliders and lifters need to be registered before you can use them. The register file is named slider_lifter_reg.xls. There are registration sheets for each unit type: SLIDE_IN for inch registration, SLIDE_MM for metric registration. When you choose Edit Register File, the register file is loaded into the spreadsheet for editing.</p>
