      </table><br><p class="para_topic"> <b class="uiTerm">Direct Unfolding</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/toolbars/wizards/sheet_metal_tools/direct_unfolding.gif" border="0"> unfolds and refolds straight brake parts to generate blank or intermediate stages, whether or not the part has Sheet Metal features. <b class="uiTerm">Direct Unfolding</b> can recognize bends automatically , define multiple-step bending with a constant bend radius, define an overbend to compensate for springback, and merge several like bends together for easier editing.  
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">When you import a Sheet Metal part or an un-parameterized feature from another CAD system, you must convert the imported model data to a solid model. <b class="uiTerm">Direct Unfolding</b> lets you create blank and intermediate stages from the imported CAD data.

      <p class="para_topic"> <b class="uiTerm">Direct Unfolding</b> can be used only on parts with straight fold lines. For other types of deformation, use <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('pdw/pdw_easyform_overview.html');return(false);">One-step Unforming</a>. The part pictured above constrains both straight brake bends and free form deformation.

      <p class="para_division">On the <b class="uiTerm">Progressive Die Wizard </b>toolbar, click <b class="uiTerm">Sheet Metal Tools</b>. On the <b class="uiTerm">Sheet Metal Tools</b> toolbar, click <b class="uiTerm">Direct Unfolding</b>.
