      <div class="title_division">Overview</div>
      <p class="para_division">Compound Welds combine different shape welds into a single weld called out with a single welding system. They are used for reinforcing weld joints. Using <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Welding</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Compound Welds</b>, you can group Groove and Fillet welds in a part file. You need to first create each individual weld and then combine them using the Compound Weld option. You must meet certain <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/compound_precon.html');return(false);">preconditions</a> for creating compound welds.

      <p class="para_division">A Compound Weld can have two sides, Side 1 and Side 2, as shown in the figure below. Each of these sides can have a maximum of two welds only. </p>

      <p class="para_division">To access the <b class="uiTerm">Compound Weld</b> dialog box in the insert mode:
      </p>

            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Welding</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Compound Welds</b>.

            <p class="para_item">Choose a weld from the <b class="uiTerm">Available Welds</b> list on the <b class="uiTerm">Compound Welds</b> dialog box or select a weld from the graphics screen. (See <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('weldassistant/compound_precon.html');return(false);">Preconditions for creating a compound weld</a>)
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">Once you have selected the minimum required features, a name for the compound weld is automatically generated and displayed on the dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Add_to_Side1</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_next.gif" border="0"> to add the selected weld to Side1. Choose <b class="uiTerm">Add_to_Side2</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_next.gif" border="0"> to add the selected weld to Side2. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose the other valid weld(s) to be added to the compound weld and add to Side1 or Side2. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> to create the weld and close the dialog box. Choose <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> to create the weld and keep the dialog box open.
            </p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_division">The Compound Weld is created.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Editing</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Welding</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Compound Weld</b>.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">OR</p>
            <p class="para_item">Click the <b class="uiTerm">Compound Weld</b> button <img align="bottom" src="graphics/icon_compound.gif" border="0"> on the <b class="uiTerm">Weld Assistant</b> toolbar.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose any of the available Compound Welds. The individual welds are displayed in the <b class="uiTerm">Welds in Side1</b> and<b class="uiTerm"> Welds in Side2</b> lists. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Welds in Side1</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Welds in Side2</b> list, select the weld you want to remove.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Remove</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/butt_prev.gif" border="0"> to remove the weld from the compound weld. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To add other weld(s) to the compound weld, choose any of the valid welds from the <b class="uiTerm">Available Welds</b> list and add to Side 1 or Side2. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> to update the Compound Weld.
            </p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Deleting</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Welding</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Compound Weld</b>.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">OR</p>
            <p class="para_item">Click the <b class="uiTerm">Compound Weld</b> button <img align="bottom" src="graphics/icon_compound.gif" border="0"> on the <b class="uiTerm">Weld Assistant</b> toolbar. 
            </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">On the dialog box, choose one or more welds from the compound welds list. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click &nbsp;<b class="uiTerm">Delete</b> to delete the selected compound weld(s). 
            </p>
