NX does not allow the text to be directly referenced into the assembly part except through reference sets. This option allows you to specify if you want the reference set to be visible in the assembly or component only.

If the ruled surface is mapped to a b-surface then it will attempt to convert the b-surface to an analytic. When this option is turned off the b-surface will map to a b-surface in the NX part file.

Create attribute identifying IGES entities

When this option is turned on, the NX part file is created with attributes, which will identify the IGES entity as they were written to the IGES file. Attributes with the title IGES are added to each entity created in the NX part. The value of these attributes specifies the sequence numbers of the first IGES Directory Entry card, and the type and form of the IGES entity represented by the NX entity. This option is turned off (the default setting) because it increases the size of the NX part file and is mostly used for debugging of translation problems.

When this option is turned on directory label names will be suppressed for all IGES wireframe geometry entities. By suppressing the label names a label name that appears in the directory entry for these IGES entities will not appear in the NX part file.

The default for this option is on. The Reformat option will cause the output file to be run through the reformat utility, which will output the file in a format that can be easily printed and edited. Turning this setting to off will cause the output to be unformatted (stream) output. The unformatted style is still used as input by some translators, but reformatted files are usually preferred.

Map periodic surface

A periodic surface in NX is mapped to the IGES file as either a Periodic Surface or Split Surface. Both of these choices manipulate trimmed periodic surfaces in NX prior to being output to the IGES file format. The default mapping of mapping a NX periodic surface to an IGES periodic surface creates an IGES surface for every NX periodic surface. These surfaces are faster to create than splitting surfaces and result in smaller file sizes and fewer entities.

Turing this option on will cause the periodic surface to be split. This option is slower and produces larger IGES files, but the trimmed surfaces definitions will not wrap around themselves as a periodic surface does. This surface representation may be more appropriate for systems, which don't support the periodic surface format.

Map trimmed surface

Map trimmed surface to untrimmed surface. A trimmed surface in NX can be mapped to an IGES untrimmed surface. Setting the option to on will force trimmed surfaces to be output to the IGES file as untrimmed surfaces. This option can be used for systems, which do not support the trimmed surface or may be having difficulty with the trimmed surface.

Revolved faces

This option gives you the choice to map the revolved face types of cone, cylinder, and sphere to a surface of revolution or b-surface. The default is to map to the surface of revolution because it will give the receiver a better idea of how the original surface came about in NX. This option allows you to choose to map to a b-surface because some systems may only be able to handle the b-surface format.

The choices include: black, red, green, blue, yellow, magenta, cyan, white, and default. When default is chosen, the receiving system will use its default color for NX's black, brown and grey. This option also allows you to make the data friendlier to systems or for users that use black as their background color and the black data could not be seen.

Map white objects

The White Color Mapping option allows you to map NX colors normally mapped to white to another IGES color. When default is chosen the receiving system will use its default color for NX's white. One use for this option is to allow you to make the data friendlier to systems or users that use white as their background color, and the white data could not be seen.

There are two methods of defining line fonts. One type considers a line font as a repetition of a basic pattern of visible-blank (on/off) segments superimposed on a line or a curve. The line or curve is then displayed according to the basic pattern. This is the method that NX uses. The other definition considers a line font as a repetition of a template figure that is displayed at regularly spaced locations. NX does not output fonts using this method because of the burden of the receiving system to carry the template around for use with the file. You will want to specify the IGES font definition if they had special fonts used in their NX part, which they have defined, or if they found that mapping of some of the standard fonts are better understood as font definition by the receiving system
