      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The o= label can be used to provide an explicit output file name for the translated part.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">If you do not provide an output filename on the command line, the translator appends a _2d.prt extension to the root portion of the input filename to produce an output filename such as sample_2d.prt.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">When the name of an output file corresponds to an already existing filename, the translator will save the existing file with a 2d_bk.prt extension. If a backup file already exists, the translator will overwrite it.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Supply the output file name(s) through the settings file using the OUTPUT_PARTS_LIST keyword. You can control the output directory by using the OUTPUT_PARTS_DIR keyword.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Log file name</div>
      <p class="para_division">The l= label can be used to provide an explicit log file name for the translator.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If you do not specify a log file name on the command line, the translator appends a &nbsp;_2d.log extension to the root portion of the input filename to produce a log file name such as sample_2d.log.</p>
      <div class="title_division">User&ndash;defined settings file</div>
      <p class="para_division">The d= label can be used to provide a user&ndash;defined settings file for translation.</p>
      <p class="para_division">See  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('dexchange/user_config.html');return(false);">User&ndash;Defined Settings File Configuration</a> for ways to configure the behavior of 2D Exchange on your system. If this option is not given, the ugto2d.def file that resides in the 2D Exchange install directory will preside.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Output To mode</div>
      <p class="para_division">The m= label can be used to provide the <b class="uiTerm">Output To</b> mode. &nbsp;Valid values include: m (or <b class="uiTerm">Modeling</b>) or d (<b class="uiTerm">Drafting</b>). The default is <b class="uiTerm">Modeling</b>. 
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">In <b class="uiTerm">Modeling</b> mode, the translator projects objects into the plane of a specified view (if<b class="uiTerm"> view=</b> option &nbsp;is specified) or drawing (if <b class="uiTerm">draw=</b> option is specified). If you do not specify a drawing or view, the translator uses the current drawing as the default. In lieu of a drawing, the current view is used. In this mode, all objects end up in modeling, dependant on the TOP view. No data will exist in drafting/drawings.

                  <p class="para_note_body">In <b class="uiTerm">Modeling</b> mode, you can specify a drawing or view to project objects into by using either the <b class="uiTerm">view=</b> or the <b class="uiTerm">draw=</b> option. If you specify more than one of these options the translator will use the first one encountered.

      <p class="para_division">In Drafting mode, the translator processes the drawing specified with the <b class="uiTerm">draw=</b> option. All of the visible objects project into the given drawing's views. If you do not specify a drawing, the translator uses the current drawing by default.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">The translator does not retain any modeling objects in <b class="uiTerm">Drafting</b> mode. This option is useful for applications that need to retain original coordinates, scales and other drafting data for later detailing on target systems.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">For <b class="uiTerm">Drafting</b> mode, you can validate objects have been projected into the plane of a drawing's member view (Z=0) with <b class="uiTerm">View&rarr;Operation&rarr;Expand</b>, followed by either an <b class="uiTerm">Information&rarr;Object</b>, or a <b class="uiTerm">View Rotate</b>.

                  <p class="para_note_body">In <b class="uiTerm">Drafting</b> mode, the translator ignores the <b class="uiTerm">view=</b> option. If there is no drawing, the translator issues a warning and then projects the visible entities into whatever the current view is.

      <p class="para_division">You can also specify the <b class="uiTerm">Output As</b> mode in the settings file using the DEFAULT_CNV_MODE keyword. The command line option, however, takes precedence.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Choose drawing</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">draw=</b> label can be used to specify a single drawing into where the translator will project objects. If more than one <b class="uiTerm">draw=</b> or <b class="uiTerm">view=</b> option is given, the translator will use the first one encountered.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Choose view</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">view=</b> label can be used to specify a single view into where the translator will project objects. This only works if the default mode of <b class="uiTerm">Modeling</b> (<b class="uiTerm">m=</b> <b class="uiTerm">Modeling</b>) is taken or explicitly specified. If more than one <b class="uiTerm">draw=</b> or <b class="uiTerm">view=</b> option is given, the translator will use the first one encountered.
