      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">File&rarr;Export/Import</b> option works the same for all of the translators. The description that follows, though done for the IGES translator, applies equally to them all.

In this case, another dialog box item will appear on the main dialog box, which you can use to choose the part file. If you click on <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/toolbars/gateway/standard/open.gif" border="0"> it will take you to the <b class="uiTerm">File Chooser</b> dialog box. You can see the name of the selected file in the string entry box to the left of the <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/toolbars/gateway/standard/open.gif" border="0"> button. The string box is also provided with the tool tip so that you can see the long file names by just moving the cursor near the string entry box.

This will be automatically generated based on the output directory set in the customer defaults or the previous file name you selected. If you want to specify a different file name you can do the same with the help of the <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/toolbars/gateway/standard/open.gif" border="0"> button.

You an choose the type of file based on the translator you are using. The <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> button will remain inactive until the correct file name is specified.

      <p class="para_division">By default, this group will be collapsed. You can expand this group if you want to specify the different settings file or save the settings file for some future use. This group contains the following user interface items:</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">Make use of <b class="uiTerm">Save</b> settings only if you want the settings file for future purposes. The translation process will carry out the translation based on the inputs provided in the dialog box.

      <p class="para_division"><img align="bottom" src="graphics/caution.gif" border="0"> Caution: If the environment variable for the translator you are using (for example, IGES_DIR) has not been set up on your system, choosing this option will result in an error message. You will not be able to proceed with the export operation.

                        <p class="para_note_body"><b class="uiTerm">Log File Name</b>: This user interface does not have the option to specify a log file name. The log file name will be the same as the output file name except the extension will be .log and it will be placed at the same location as the output file. If the file is imported to the work part then the log file will be created at the working directory/current directory location. If the working directory does not have write permissions applied then the log file will be created at the UGII_TMP_DIR location.
                        </p>

                        <p class="para_note_body"><b class="uiTerm">Load Options</b>: This user interface doe snot provide any dialog box for assembly load options. The current NX session's load options will be passed to the translator.
                        </p>
