The value entered will write to the global section of the IGES file.

In variable tolerance systems the tolerance is based on the maximum 3D-model space. All tolerances for the geometry contained within this part calculate relative to the maximum 3D-model space value. 10000 millimeters is an example of a user–specified value used by many aerospace sites using CATIA. The sender needs to be aware of what is used for the maximum 3D space (MODEL DIMENSION in CATIA terminology) for the site that they are sending data to. The value is extremely important when data sent can add to an assembly. In CATIA, at least the MODEL DIMENSION must be the same for all models within the assembly, if you expect calculations to operate on geometry within the assembly. Mixed model dimensions can cause a number of problems, so you need to communicate with the receiver of the data in order to get the correct value. The system–defined value will be calculated based on all of the geometry contained in the part and the maximum extent will be used for the model space parameter if the option is turned on. If System defined is off you can enter the value. In both cases, either the System defined or User entered, the value will write to the IGES file global section parameter 20. All translators may not apply this value when reading in the IGES file. This field has been beneficial to some CATIA sites. The system–defined value will be appropriate for most translations.

By default, the System Defined Max 3D Model Space and the System Defined Point Resolution options are selected. If you uncheck these options, the dynamic input box appears and you can enter the numeric value in the double field.
