      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Face\Edge B-spline Approximation Tolerance</b> option allows you to specify the upper bound on the distance between the b-spline approximated representation of a face or edge and the corresponding original face or edge when a face or edge must be approximated into a b-spline surface (faces or a b-spline curve (edges). A recommended value would be to use a value one order of magnitude smaller than the machining tolerance. This will decrease the output file size but still maintain the accuracy usually required.

                  <p class="para_note_body">The units of the value displayed or entered will be based on the units of the current work part. The value for this field will always write to the .def file as a millimeter value and converts to the appropriate work part units when read by the interface. For .def files written before Unigraphics V15, the value saved as a meter value and will convert to millimeters in subsequent versions of the translators, as long as the pre&ndash;version keyword is available in the .def file to indicate under what version of NX the .def file was created.</p>
