      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The NX to 2D Exchange (UGTO2D) translator allows a 3D NX part to project into a 2D representation. The results can be output to either modeling or drafting space. Objects can be projected into a drawing in Drafting or a view in Modeling.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The resulting 2D representation of the part can be exported through IGES or DXF/DWG translators for use in 2D CAD systems and applications. You can use exported NX 2D part data by 2D oriented applications such as detailed drafting, analysis, or technical publications.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">There are three ways to invoke the translator:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From NX with <b class="uiTerm">File&rarr;Export&rarr;2D Exchange</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From UNIX: NX activity menu (ugmenu) or from Windows: NX <b class="uiTerm">Tools&rarr;Translators&rarr;ugto2d</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From the operating system command line.</p>
         </li>

      <p class="para_topic">The figure above shows the front view of a 3D model that has been rotated around its vertical axis (the Z-axis in this case). It would be evident that the model is three-dimensional.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">The above figure shows the result of projecting the geometry of a 3D input part into the plane of the front view using 2D Exchange. Note that both the 3D input part and the 2D-output part will visually look like the preceding figure, except that the 2D image will be in the XY plane of the Modeling application Top view.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">The figure above shows the output part that has been rotated. It would be evident that the model is represented in two dimensions. In fact, if the geometry had been rotated a full 90 degrees, the entire model would appear to be a line.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Notice that in this m = modeling example, the output from 2D Exchange is put into a single layout in the XY plane regardless of its original orientation. Therefore, the rotation around the vertical axis in this diagram is around the Y-axis.</p>
