      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The CATIA V4 translator allows you to import and export solid and sheet bodies from CATIA V4 model and export files. The CATIA V4 translator will import CATIA V4 files of version 4.1.x to 4.2.0. While exporting a CATIA V4 model from NX, the translator writes the file as a version 4.1.9 CATIA file.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">This translator is different from the other translators offered by NX in that there is no external, batch mode for this translator. The CATIA V4 translator shows up in the <b class="uiTerm">File Selection</b> dialog boxes in NX.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can translate CATIA files into NX by using the <b class="uiTerm">Open</b> command on the <b class="uiTerm">File</b> menu and by using the <b class="uiTerm">V4 CATIA Solids</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Part</b> commands on the <b class="uiTerm">Import</b> menu. You can also import a CATIA V4 file as a component of an assembly by using the <b class="uiTerm">Add Existing</b> command on the <b class="uiTerm">Components</b> menu under the <b class="uiTerm">Assemblies</b> menu.

      <p class="para_topic">You can translate a NX part file to a CATIA V4 model file by using <b class="uiTerm">File&rarr; Save As</b> command and by using the <b class="uiTerm">V4 CATIA Solids</b> command on the <b class="uiTerm">Export</b> menu.

      <div class="title_division">Environment setup</div>
      <p class="para_division">The installation process defines the CATIA V4 default directory.&nbsp;This directory contains all of the libraries used by the translator. You can change the default directory by changing up the environment variable UGII_CATIA_DIR in the ugii_env.dat file.</p>
