      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">File&rarr;Export/Import</b> option works the same for all of the translators. The description that follows, though done for the IGES translator, applies equally to them all.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Basic Operations refer to those options, which appear on each of the translators main menu. When choosing a translator type, a dialog box will displays that will allow you to:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the NX part file or display objects that you wish to translate and export.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the output file name for the translated part file you are exporting.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify a settings file to control options for the translation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Modify the settings used to control translation.</p>
         </li>

                  <p class="para_warning_body"> CAUTION: If the environment variable for the translator you are using (e.g., IGES_DIR) has not already been setup on your system, choosing this option will result in an error message. You will not be able to proceed with the <b class="uiTerm">Export</b> operation.

      <p class="para_division">Use the <b class="uiTerm">Source Specification Method</b> buttons to determine how to specify what to export and translate. Choosing <b class="uiTerm">Displayed Part</b> in the <b class="uiTerm">Export From</b> group makes the <b class="uiTerm">Class Select</b> button active. Choosing <b class="uiTerm">Existing Part</b> makes the <b class="uiTerm">Choose Part</b> button active.

      <p class="para_division">Two buttons are activated when you choose the <b class="uiTerm">Displayed Part</b> button on the <b class="uiTerm">Export From</b> group: <b class="uiTerm">Entire Part</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Select Objects</b> in the <b class="uiTerm">Model Data</b> group in the <b class="uiTerm">Data to Export</b> tab page. These two options allow you to highlight objects from the graphics window for translation. You can select from fully loaded parts in the display. You can enter the <b class="uiTerm">Class Selection</b> dialog box, select objects, exit the dialog box by choosing <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>, and then return again to <b class="uiTerm">Class Selection</b> dialog box to select (or deselect) more objects. (To deselect an object from the display, use Shift&ndash;click.)

      <p class="para_division">If you have not yet selected objects using <b class="uiTerm">Class Selection</b>, the message, No objects selected appears beneath the <b class="uiTerm">Class Select</b> button.
