      <p class="para_topic">The STEP export settings for AP203 and AP214 are similar.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Object types</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Object Type</b> check boxes let you select the type of NX data to export to STEP. <b class="uiTerm">Solids</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Surfaces</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Wireframe</b>, and <b class="uiTerm">CSYS</b> are self&ndash;evident. Generally it is best to export your model data as solid data.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">Product data is product configuration information that exchanges via STEP. Although NX does not act on this data, if it exists as NX part attribute information it will export.</p>

      </p>
      <p class="para_division">The default is to export only solids.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Layers to export</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can limit the data you export by only specifying the layers that contain the appropriate information. You can enter layer numbers or layers ranges separated by commas. For example, 1, 5, 88-109, 201, 206-10 is a legal specification.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The default is to export layers 1-256.</p>
      <div class="title_division">B-Spline approximation tolerance</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">B-Spline Approximation Tolerance</b> defines the accuracy to use when the export process has to approximate a NX object in STEP. &nbsp;NX offset surfaces, blend surfaces, degenerate tori, intersection edges, and tolerant edges approximate (as b&ndash;surfaces and b&ndash;curves) as there is no direct STEP entity to represent these NX object types.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">It is reasonable to set this to an order of magnitude smaller than the receiving system's machining tolerance if you know it.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The default b&ndash;spline approximation tolerance is .0254 mm.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Assembly options</div>
      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Assembly Options</b> let you decide to use the load_options.def file when NX is running, or you can specify options that will apply only to the translation. There are times where you may be exporting information, but not have the same environment used to create the information originally. Also you may not want to export all of the components and these options let you control the export operation without having to create special load_options.def files in NX.

      <p class="para_division">The assembly control options have the same impact as when used with NX to load assemblies.</p>
