      <p class="para_topic">This feature allows you to create a cutout on any type of face. The <b class="uiTerm">Cutout</b> feature is unique from the <b class="uiTerm">General Pocket</b> in that it forms and unforms itself with its underlying placement face(s).
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Here are some of the unique characteristics of the <b class="uiTerm">Cutout</b> feature:
      </p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Cutouts can distort with underlying <b class="uiTerm">Sheet Metal</b> features, such as the <b class="uiTerm">Flange</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Inset Flange</b>, <b class="uiTerm">General Flange</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Bridge</b>, and <b class="uiTerm">Bend</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The outline of the cutout can be open as long as the ends of the outline intersect with the periphery of the target body.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">You can access the <b class="uiTerm">Cutout</b> dialog box from <b class="uiTerm">Modeling&rarr;Sheet Metal Feature&rarr;Cutout</b> or from the <b class="uiTerm">Sheet Metal Feature</b> . To edit a cutout, use <b class="uiTerm">Modeling&rarr;Edit&rarr;Feature</b> or the <b class="uiTerm">Edit Feature</b> .

               <p class="para_td">The top of the cutout follows the contours of the placement face. The cutout will automatically find faces adjacent to the placement face, if needed.</p>

               <p class="para_td">The vector that determines how the placement outline curves are projected onto the placement face. This is also the direction that the cutout is punched through the solid body.</p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Discard Region</b></p>

               <p class="para_td">The region of the cutout that is to be removed from the part. A conehead points to the side of the outline that will be removed.</p>

      </table><br><div class="title_division">Procedure</div>
      <p class="para_division">The steps for creating a <b class="uiTerm">Cutout</b> are:
      </p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the placement face.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify a through face (<b class="uiTerm">Through</b> type cutouts only).
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the placement outline.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify a projection vector.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Flip the conehead pointing to the region to discard, if needed.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> to create the cutout.
            </p>
