      </table><br><p class="para_topic">When using <b class="uiTerm">Part Families</b>, new family members are created by editing parameters that control the features within the master part. Since Sheet Metal holes must be updated in their creation state, the part family member will be incorrect if the master is not in the correct state. The following technique will allow you to correctly update the members even when the master is not in the <b class="uiTerm">Creation State</b>:
      </p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Put the master part in the proper creation state (usually the unformed state).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Create a flat pattern while the model is in the creation state. This flat pattern will cause the model to update in the proper state.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Put the model in the desired non&ndash;creation state.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Create the part family members.</p>
         </li>
