The above figure shows the tool solid with the punch blends applied to it. We recommend that when you are in the Forming Operator mode that you create die blends through the Solid Punch Options dialog box. By doing this, you can use the same tool with different thicknesses of material without having to change the tool geometry. When you are in the Formable Featuremode, the die blends need to exist on the tool body. If the die blends are applied using the Options dialog box when the solid punch unforms and converts to wireframe, the blends will fail. The figure below illustrates what the blends are for this tool solid.

The punch blend creation must be on the tool solid to have this blend included in the solid punch. You can add the die blend to the tool solid or using the option on the Solid Punch dialog box. The Die Blend option is not available during an Edit. If you choose to have the Solid Punch create the die blend, the blend is not part of the Solid Punch feature, but creates a separate blend feature that you can edit separately.
