The second set of options define whether interior cutouts can be evaluated using a soft–spring value for the Modulus of Elasticity. This option is useful when a region boundary contains numerous holes that would otherwise cause too many elements to be generated around their boundaries. When selected, the meshing algorithms will attempt to ignore these interior holes and mesh the region boundary as if they did not exist. The analysis will then apply the assigned minimum modulus value to each node of an element that resides in the domain of each hole in the region boundary. The default value for this minimum modulus will be 10 psi. If you do not select the Use Minimum Modulus check box, the Minimum Modulus String check box will not be sensitive.
