      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The following parameters define the overall dimensions of the bracket. If you have <b class="uiTerm">Preferences&rarr;Sheet Metal&rarr;Use Feature Standards</b> turned on, the  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/image336.gif" border="0"> button on each box will give you a list of standard acceptable values. After building the base pad and flange, you will be given the opportunity to edit the outline.

               <p class="para_td">Upon selecting a <b class="uiTerm">Base Face</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Reference Face</b>, the system will display two vectors that indicate the material direction of the bracket. The bracket faces will align with the base and reference faces, however, you can choose to align on the bracket inner or outer faces. Switch between the two using the <b class="uiTerm">Reverse Material Direction</b> button.
               </p>

               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Clearance Distance</b> defines the radius of the <b class="uiTerm">Clearance Circles</b>. This parameter has two effects. Since the bracket outline is tangent to these curves, it defines the minimum distance of the clearance point to the edge of the bracket. It also defines the corner radius (if the <b class="uiTerm">Add Rounded Corners</b> option is enabled).

               <p class="para_td">A bracket is constructed from an <b class="uiTerm">Extrude</b> feature and a flange or general flange. <b class="uiTerm">Material Thickness</b> is used as the extrusion distance and the flange thickness.

               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Bend Radius</b> is the constant inner radius of the flange or general flange feature.

               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Pad Length</b> defines the distance from the base face&ndash;reference face intersection to the opposite edge. This parameter is only used if no <b class="uiTerm">Base Clearance Point</b> geometry is selected.

               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Flange Length</b> defines the contour length of the flange or general flange feature. This parameter is only used if no <b class="uiTerm">Reference Clearance Point</b> geometry is selected.

               <p class="para_td">When you specify an <b class="uiTerm">Offset Distance</b>, the given distance in the <b class="uiTerm">Material Direction</b> will offset the resulting bracket from the <b class="uiTerm">Reference Face</b>. This is useful when you need to allow room for the bend to go around an outside corner.
               </p>

               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Chordal Tolerance</b> defines how closely the resulting general flange will match a non&ndash;planar <b class="uiTerm">Reference Face</b>. The general flange is built from section curves. This parameter controls the number of sections generated.

               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Linear Tolerance</b> defines how closely the resulting general flange will match the non&ndash;planar <b class="uiTerm">Reference Face</b>. The general flange is built from section curves, each consisting of an arc and a line. This parameter controls the maximum distance between the <b class="uiTerm">Reference Face</b> and the general flange face.
               </p>

               <p class="para_td">When you choose the <b class="uiTerm">Bend Allowance Formula</b> button the <b class="uiTerm">Bend Allowance Formula</b> dialog box displays. You can select the <b class="uiTerm">Bend Allowance Formula (BAF)</b> from the list or you can enter the BAF in the dynamic input box.
               </p>

               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Add Rounded Corners</b> option lets you create a bracket in which the corners are constructed from the <b class="uiTerm">Clearance Circles</b>. The default is on.
               </p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">When this option is off the bracket outline is created using lines that are tangent to the <b class="uiTerm">Clearance Circles</b>. It is possible that these tangent lines could intersect a considerable distance from the bracket, or even be parallel. This can cause undesirable effects when the outline is applied. For this reason, we recommend the use of this option whenever possible. You can reduce such problems by increasing the<b class="uiTerm"> Bracket Margin</b> under <b class="uiTerm">Preferences&rarr;Sheet Metal</b>.
