      </table><br><p class="para_topic">When you select a bend string, the system infers the side of the string considered the tangent faces. It does this by determining the thickness of the material under each set of adjacent faces. The system assumes that the faces that yield the smaller thickness represent the sheet metal surface. The adjacent faces are the target attachment faces. These faces highlight when you select the bend edges. Note that the entire face highlights even if all tangent edges belonging to the face have not been selected. These edges are still selectable even though the face is highlighted. If the wrong faces are highlighted, simply press the <b class="uiTerm">Adjacent Faces</b> button. You should not select interior edges, as they may yield unexpected results. Note that the flange always builds outward from the tangent faces.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">This option is not available if you have selected edges from sheet bodies.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">This option is not available while editing a general flange.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The figure below shows the two possible extension directions for a selected edge.</p>
