Each section must consist of an arbitrary number of curves and edges that comprise an open, G1 string.

It is not required that the plane of each section be normal to the spine, or to the bend edge. If there is a single section or for end extensions, the section maintains the original angle to the bend edge or spine as it sweeps along it. If there are multiple sections, intermediate sections will interpolate the angle as well as the shape of the end sections. Extrapolated or interpolated section will be rotated around the tangent to the bend edge to ensure tangency with the target if necessary. This ensures that the general flange will create G1 with the target body.

Extend start and extend end

When section curves are not defined at the spine ends, the Extend Start and Extend End options determine how the general flange will be interpreted at the spine ends. If either option is on, the general flange will maintain a constant section from the last defined section to the spine start/end. If it is off, the general flange will only create between the extreme section curves. If there is only one section string, at least one of the extension options must be on.
