      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Use <b class="uiTerm">Hem Flange</b> to create a feature where the material folds back on itself. <b class="uiTerm">Hem Flange</b> is always a secondary feature built on a base part, such as a tab. This command gives you a variety of pre-set shapes. Along with simple open and closed hems, you can create more specialized types, such as curls and loops. The following figure shows some standard hem shapes: closed, curled, s-type, and centered loop.

      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Hem Flange</b> dialog box illustrates each type and shows the key dimensions. For example, this is the picture of the <b class="uiTerm">Closed</b> type hem, and shows how the key dimension, which in this case is flange length, is measured.

      <p class="para_topic">You can make fairly complex shapes quite simply, and you can create hem flanges that chain around part edges.</p>
