      </table><br><p class="para_topic">When you turn on the <b class="uiTerm">Use Global</b> option, you are setting the angle for the entire part. This means that the feature dialog boxes and application dialog boxes that use an angle expression will no longer have any angle widgets. Instead, the feature or application will simply use the angle you have defined here.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can decide whether the angle value represents a bend angle or an included angle by simply selecting the appropriate radio button.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Global bend allowance formula</div>
      <p class="para_division">When you turn on the <b class="uiTerm">Use Global</b> option, you are setting the bend allowance formula (BAF) for the entire part. This means that the feature dialog boxes and application dialog boxes that use bend allowance formulas will no longer have the BAF button. Instead, the feature or application will simply use the formula you have defined here.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">You can select the <b class="uiTerm">Bend Allowance Formula</b> from the list or you can enter the BAF in the dynamic input box. Use the bend allowance formula when the model is unfolded to compute the setback distances for the cylindrical bend portion of the flange. This formula is typically a function of the inside radius of the bend, the thickness and type of material, and the bend angle.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">Select a standard bend allowance formula by single clicks or enter a new value to change to a new bend allowance. (<b class="uiTerm">Default Formula</b> shows the current bend allowance formula.)

                  <p class="para_note_body">The value selected must be a valid RHS (right hand side) for a NX expression. When you select <b class="uiTerm">Radius</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Thickness</b>, and <b class="uiTerm">Angle</b> they must be entered exactly as shown with a capital first letter. They are not actually expression variables in the usual sense, but are substituted variables for each flange when the expression evaluates. Radius is the inside bend radius; thickness is the material thickness; angle is the bend angle; and radius is a built&ndash;in NX expression function. The value .44 represents the <b class="uiTerm">Neutral Axis Factor</b>, an empirical value, that you can adjust for the material type and thickness to correctly calculate the developed length of the bend portion of a flange feature due to folding.

      <p class="para_division">Selection of a <b class="uiTerm">Bend Allowance Formula</b> provides only a default value for flanges in the part.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">The list of formulas that appear comes from the most recently read standards file. See  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('sheetmetaldes/stand_ov.html');return(false);">Standards</a> for further information on modifying the standard bend allowance formulas presented in the <b class="uiTerm">Sheet Metal Design General Preferences</b> dialog box.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">Switch this option to <b class="uiTerm">Bend Allowance Table</b> to use the TCL procedure in the ugsmd_def.std file to calculate the developed length of each formable feature in the active part. This replaces the <b class="uiTerm">Bend Allowance Formula (BAF)</b> in the <b class="uiTerm">Preferences</b> dialog box and the BAF on each formable feature.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">If this preference is on, then you will get the following error message when you try to set a BAF for a feature:</p><font class="codeExample_small"><pre class="indent">Cannot set a Bend Allowance Formula for this feature.
