Unbend/Rebend automatically creates a Face Subdivision feature to subdivide existing faces that cross the boundaries of the bend face. New faces that cross the boundaries of the bend face are not automatically subdivided and may lower the performance of the Unbend/Rebend feature or cause the Unbend/Rebend feature to produce an error. You can subdivide new faces by redefining the Unbend/Rebend feature via the right–click menu option, Redefine Feature, in the Model Navigator.

The Rebend feature, when applied to an earlier Unbend feature will reform it. This means that in previous NX releases the Unbend/Rebend will not work on a general flange or a bridge. The faces of these two features are b–surfaces. Unbend/Rebend will not work on a flange that has a Machinery or Full Miter Corner as a child feature. The Machinery and Full Miter corner both perform an Unite which the Unbend/Rebend cannot handle.

The option on the Sheet Metal Preferences dialog box, Forming method, controls the use of Self–Forming features. If the option Use Forming Operations is checked any flange, inset flange, and bend you create will not be listed in the Form/Unform dialog box. The way to get these features to now form or unform is to create Unbend and Rebend features on their cylindrical faces. If the option Use Self–Forming Features is selected any flange, inset flange, and bend you create will be listed in the Form/Unform dialog box.

When you apply the Unbend to a cylindrical face of a self–forming feature, the feature is converted into a non–self–forming feature.
