      <p class="para_topic">You can use either the <b class="uiTerm">Tab</b> or the <b class="uiTerm">Contour Flange</b> as the base feature in a new part. Which one you use depends on your design intent. For this tutorial, you will use the <b class="uiTerm">Tab</b>. Like many features in NX Sheet Metal, the <b class="uiTerm">Tab</b> is sketch-driven: its geometry relies on a sketch for its profile.

            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Tab</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/tab_base_ico.gif" border="0">.

            <p class="para_item">You need to sketch a profile for your tab. Click <img align="bottom" src="graphics/sketcher_icon.gif" border="0"> (<b class="uiTerm">Sketcher</b> ).

            <p class="para_item">In Sketcher, accept the default XC-YC sketch plane. </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item"> Sketch a rectangle 150 mm by 50 mm and click the flag to finish the sketch. You now see a wireframe preview of your tab. </p>

            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> to accept the default thickness value that you set in <b class="uiTerm">Preferences</b> and to complete the feature.
