If the meshing tolerances are very small compared to the overall size of the region boundary, the number of elements generated could be substantial (for example, number of elements > 1000). If the meshing tolerances are very large compared to the overall size of the region boundary, the final mapping results may not produce results within a desired tolerance. It is recommended, depending on the complexity of the part, that a length tolerance should be chosen that initiates the mesh with approximately 150 to 250 elements (such as a length tolerance of 10.0 could be chosen for a region boundary with length and width of 100.0 x 200.0). If it is obvious that the meshing tolerances have generated a mesh that is either too dense or too sparse, the analysis may be suspended by pressing the Stop button to abort the analysis. This option gives you the ability to modify the meshing tolerances and try the analysis again.

The mapping functionality of the MetaForm feature has been enhanced to compensate for offset distances from the region boundary as shown below. This offset mapping capability is useful when mapping objects with thickness or depth, such as the top and bottom edges of a hole or slot.
