      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Bend</b> feature in NX Sheet Metal works just like the <b class="uiTerm">SMBend</b> feature in the Sheet Metal Design software. You sketch a line profile and the software bends the part around that line.

            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Bend</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/bend_feat_icon.gif" border="0">.

            <p class="para_item"> The <b class="uiTerm">Bend</b> dialog displays, and the software defaults to face selection for the sketch plane.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Select the face highlighted in the figure below as the placement face for the sketch.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Create a single line sketch as shown in the figure below. This horizontal line stretches from beyond the part edge across the bend region on the first flange. It's positioned 30 mm from the top edge.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Click on the flag to complete the sketch. You see two directional handles and one angle handle. Double-click on the directional arrows (if necessary) so that they point as shown in the figure.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Set the angle of the bend to 45 degrees by either dragging the handle or typing in the entry box. Complete the bend by clicking <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>.

            <p class="para_item">Notice how the software rips the bend region of the original flange because the new bend feature intersects it. Rather than giving you an error, the software assumes you want this result and rips those bend regions automatically.</p>
