      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The construction of a general flange involves an approximation process, controlled by the <b class="uiTerm">Tolerance</b> dynamic input box. The default value is the distance tolerance found under the modeling preferences.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Note that unrealistically small tolerance values may produce an excessively complex geometry or a failure to construct the general flange. It may be necessary to experiment with various tolerances to determine the best value for any particular general flange.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Minimum number of sampled points</div>
      <p class="para_division">A general flange is built by creating section curves that are normal to the bend edge (or spine) at points that are determined by the <b class="uiTerm">Tolerance</b> dynamic input box. Since this would give a small number of sampled points along linear segments, the <b class="uiTerm">Minimum Number of Sampled Points</b> dynamic input box can be used to increase the density of these points. An example of its use is when using <b class="uiTerm">Build to Faces</b> along a linear bend edge. The faces may have details that require a larger number of sections than the bend edge curvature would yield.

      <div class="title_division">Contour lines</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can request that the system create contour lines for certain general flanges. The contour line is defined as the intersection of surfaces extended from the tangent face and the web of the first step. You can only generate contour lines on the first step of general flanges created using <b class="uiTerm">Parameters</b> method or <b class="uiTerm">Punch Vector</b> method. Contour lines can only be applied to General Flanges whose angles have an absolute value less than 135.

      <p class="para_division">You can request that the system create mold lines for certain general flanges. The mold line is defined as the intersection of surfaces extended from the tangent face and a surface normal to that surface and tangent to the bend face. You can only generate mold lines on the first step of general flanges created using <b class="uiTerm">Parameters</b> method or <b class="uiTerm">Punch Vector</b> method. Mold lines can only be applied to general flanges whose angles have an absolute value greater than 90&deg;.

      <p class="para_division">You can request that the system create <b class="uiTerm">Form Block Lines</b> for certain general flanges. The form block line is similar to the contour line, however it applies to the inner surfaces of the flange. You can only generate form block lines on the first step of general flanges created using <b class="uiTerm">Parameters</b> method or <b class="uiTerm">Punch Vector</b> method. Form block lines can only be applied to general flanges whose angles have an absolute value less than 135.
