      </table><br><p class="para_topic">If the <b class="uiTerm">Weld Rings</b> option in <b class="uiTerm">Piping Preferences</b> is on, then the information necessary to include a weld ring for this butt weld connection is added to the routing.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">The system searches the weld ring part table, matching the characteristics for the NPS and RATING of the placed part and the weld ring material, as read from <b class="uiTerm">Piping Preferences</b>.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Upon finding a match, the appropriate information for BOM reporting attaches to the port (if it finds no match, a warning dialog box displays). The Routing BOM program reads this information and reports the weld ring in the parts list.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">For the case in which two butt-weld ports are connected, a check is made to assure only one weld ring is assigned for the connection.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Add weld gaps</div>
      <p class="para_division">If the <b class="uiTerm">Add Weld Gaps</b> option of <b class="uiTerm">Piping Preferences</b> is on, then the value given in the <b class="uiTerm">Weld Gap Value</b> entry of <b class="uiTerm">Piping Preferences</b> is assigned to the butt weld port of the placed part.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">The length of stock connected to this port with a weld gap value has its length shortened an amount equal to that value to provide an accurate pipe length in the parts list. This completes regardless of whether the gaps are modeled or not.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">If the <b class="uiTerm">Model Weld Gaps</b> option of the <b class="uiTerm">Piping Preferences</b> is pn, then the gap actually models in the assembly by separating the two fittings by the value of the weld gap. If the two fitting have different values for weld gap then an error message is given. This situation can occur if the value for weld gap in <b class="uiTerm">Piping Preferences</b> changes between the placements of the two fittings.
