      <p class="para_topic">Use <b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> to substitute one part for another. How well the system places the new part in the location of the old part depends on the similarities of the parts. If they are very similar, the placement is usually correct. If the two parts are not similar, the placement solution may not be as desired. The <b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> function is for replacing parts with similar parts.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Use <b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> in a routing assembly rather than the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.popUpPage('assemblies/index.html?goto=assemblies/an_popup.html&vars=-aux,-home','linkInter','menubar=yes,status=yes,resizable=yes,toolbar=yes,scrollbars=yes,location=no,directories=no');return(false);">Assemblies <b class="uiTerm">Substitute Component</b></a> function. <b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> maintains connections and invokes design rule checking, whereas the Assemblies <b class="uiTerm">Substitute Component</b> does not.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Choose component</div>
      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> is capable of replacing more than one component at once. The <b class="uiTerm">Choose Component</b> dialog box allows you to choose a single occurrence of a component from the graphics window or all components of a type from the list provided by the dialog box. Choose the components you wish to replace.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Component Name Method</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Component Name Method</b> section of the <b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> dialog box lets you determine the assignment of the name of the replacement component. Maintain causes the new component to have the same name the old component had.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Routing Default</b> designates the new component name as your defaults are defined, usually the part name. <b class="uiTerm">As Specified</b> lets you enter the component name of the new part directly in the dialog box.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Reference set options</div>
      <p class="para_division">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Maintain or Entire Part</b>. <b class="uiTerm">Maintain</b> causes the replacement part to use the same reference set used by the part being replaced. If the replacing part does not have that reference set defined, the <b class="uiTerm">Entire Part</b> reference set is used. Choosing <b class="uiTerm">Entire Part</b> causes the use of the <b class="uiTerm">Entire Part</b> Reference set.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Layer options</div>
      <p class="para_division">Choose an option to control the layer settings of the objects within the replacement part as placed in the Routing assembly. These are common layering options except for <b class="uiTerm">Maintain</b>. <b class="uiTerm">Maintain</b> causes the replacement part to assume the same layer structure as the replaced part. This option may not be suitable for dissimilar parts.
