When a PCB assembly is modified in ECAD, you can use PCB.xchange to track changes, and selectively update the NX model. Open the modified ECAD file, and use the Compare command to select an NX model to compare. The software lists detected differences between the two versions. Most common changes in ECAD files are detected. You can individually select which changes (if any) you want to make in the NX model being compared.

The software checks for the following component changes. All checks are based on the reference designators (REFDES)

The comparison function does not recognize individual changes in the PC board itself. However, it does perform certain checks to compare the current PC board to the NX board part, and attempt to recognize whether it has changed or not. Simple checks for the quantity of restriction areas and drilled holes, the board name and the board revision are performed. If differences are detected, PCB.xchange informs you and gives you the option to replace the PC board in the NX model with the current PC board.
