      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The white space shortcut menu command of the <b class="uiTerm">Run Navigator</b> named <b class="uiTerm">Discrepancies</b> provides access to the <b class="uiTerm">Resolve Discrepancy</b> dialog box. This dialog box displays the results of a <b class="uiTerm">Compare</b> operation when the <b class="uiTerm">Report Discrepancies</b> option of the <b class="uiTerm">Comparison Settings</b> is checked. If a <b class="uiTerm">Compare</b> is performed with <b class="uiTerm">Report Discrepancies</b> not checked, this dialog box is empty.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Dialog box</div>
      <p class="para_division">Each entry of the <b class="uiTerm">Resolve Discrepancy</b> is an instance of a characteristic assigned to each of the corresponding items but with different values in each case (if one has a characteristic that the other does not, this is not a discrepancy).
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">In the example above, ITEM_8 is the only item with a discrepancy, and it has two. The first line shows the characteristic MATERIAL with a value of Stainless Steel for ITEM_8 in the work part but a value of steel in the compare part. The second discrepancy shows that ITEM_8 has a different part number in each model. Obviously, the wrong part is being used.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Highlighting</div>
      <p class="para_division">One or more entries of the <b class="uiTerm">Resolve Discrepancy</b> dialog box may be selected, shown by reverse highlighting in the window. The corresponding item component is also highlighted in the graphics window when selected in the <b class="uiTerm">Resolve Discrepancy</b> dialog box.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Shortcut menu commands</div>
      <p class="para_division">When the cursor is over a selected discrepancy entry, the shortcut menu has the following command options.</p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Rectify Characteristic</b></p>

            <td bgcolor="#f7f7f7" colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">Changes the value of the characteristic in the work part to match the value of the characteristic in the <b class="uiTerm">Compare Part</b>. However, not all characteristics may be rectified. Any characteristic that is a descriptor characteristic may not be rectified. Descriptor characteristics are those that are defined by the part itself (through a part table, in-class definition, or part attribute) and may only be changed by replacing the part with a different part having the desired characteristic value. If the characteristic is a <b class="uiTerm">Required</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Optional</b>, or a <b class="uiTerm">Null Descriptor</b> characteristic, then the <b class="uiTerm">Rectify Characteristic</b> option is available. &nbsp;Otherwise the <b class="uiTerm">Rectify Characteristic</b> option is not sensitive.
               </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> (sensitive only when the item is a component).

               <p class="para_td">When the discrepancy item is a component, the <b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> command allows you to replace the item component in the work part with the equivalent part found in the <b class="uiTerm">Compare Part</b>. If both the work part and the <b class="uiTerm">Compare Part</b> are Mechanical designs, <b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> need not prompt for item selection because the part is known (all selection characteristics have values given by the <b class="uiTerm">Compare Part Item</b>). Similarly, of both designs are <b class="uiTerm">Logical</b> there is no need to prompt for <b class="uiTerm">Item Selection</b>.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">If the work part is <b class="uiTerm">Mechanical</b> and the compare part is <b class="uiTerm">Logical</b>, then the characteristics of the <b class="uiTerm">Logical</b> symbol part are used in the <b class="uiTerm">Characteristic Search</b> mode of <b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b>. You may need to select a part from a list of matching parts, but the characteristics are guaranteed to match those of the <b class="uiTerm">Logical</b> Item.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">If the work part is <b class="uiTerm">Logical</b> and the <b class="uiTerm">Compare Part</b> is <b class="uiTerm">Mechanical</b>, then the replacement part is well defined and there is no need for your to perform an <b class="uiTerm">Item Selection</b> (generally).
               </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Replace Stock</b> (sensitive only when the Item is a stock).

               <p class="para_td">When the discrepancy Item is a stock, the <b class="uiTerm">Replace Stock</b> shortcut command allows you to replace the stock in the work part with the equivalent stock found in the <b class="uiTerm">Compare Part</b>. If both the work part and the <b class="uiTerm">Compare Part</b> are <b class="uiTerm">Mechanical</b> designs, <b class="uiTerm">Replace Part</b> need not prompt for <b class="uiTerm">Item Selection</b> because the stock is known (all selection characteristics have values given by the <b class="uiTerm">Compare Part Item</b>). Similarly, of both designs are <b class="uiTerm">Logical</b> there is no need to prompt for <b class="uiTerm">Item Selection</b>.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">If the work part is <b class="uiTerm">Mechanical</b> and the compare part is <b class="uiTerm">Logical</b>, then the characteristics of the <b class="uiTerm">Logical</b> stock are used in the <b class="uiTerm">Characteristic Search</b> mode of <b class="uiTerm">Replace Stock</b>. You may need to select a stock from a list of matching stocks, but the characteristics are guaranteed to match those of the <b class="uiTerm">Logical Item</b>. &nbsp;
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">If the work part is <b class="uiTerm">Logical</b> and the <b class="uiTerm">Compare Part</b> is<b class="uiTerm"> Mechanical</b>, then the replacement stock is well defined and there is no need for you &nbsp;to perform an <b class="uiTerm">Item Selection</b> (generally).
               </p>
