      <p class="para_topic">The function allows you to select a parent path and create a number of children paths with an offset from the parent and with a certain pattern of paths. The parent path must consist of lines and arcs only, spline segments are not allowed. This is useful when designing several runs that follow along side one another. The children paths are associated to their parent, such that if the parent is moved then so do the children paths. Modify this association of paths once the you create <b class="uiTerm">Parallel Offset Paths</b> using the  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('routingtools/man_ass_path.html');return(false);"><b class="uiTerm">Manage Associative Paths</b></a> tool.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">These are the general steps in creating <b class="uiTerm">Parallel Offset Paths</b>:

               <p class="para_td">Select the path to serve as the parent path for the children paths.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Assign a distance that the children paths offset from the parent path. The default value is 1.0 inch or 25.0 mm, depending upon the units of the part.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Assign a single pattern view for a set of children offset paths. The default pattern is circular. Valid patterns are rectangular and circular. (Linear is a special case of rectangular with one of the dimensions, rows or columns, set to 1.)</p>

               <p class="para_td">For the circular pattern, the children paths will be equally spaced from 0 to a specified angle less than or equal to 360. A single child path will be at 0, such as in the direction of the vector at the offset distance. As an example, if three children are to be created and the angle is 0 to 100, the first child will be at 0, the second at 50 and the third at 100 (degrees / (number of children &ndash; 1)). If the angle is 360, the equation is degrees/number of children.</p>

               <p class="para_td">For the rectangular pattern, enter the location of the parent path by specifying the grid row and column. All other cells in the Row X Column grid will be children paths. This allows you to place the parent path anywhere within the pattern view (upper left corner, middle right edge, center of a 5 X 5 square).</p>

               <p class="para_td">You can select the type of bend for bend corners that lie in the same plane. </p>
