You can use the Compare to ECAD Model command to compare and update a selected ECAD model to the model currently displayed in NX. Most common changes in board design are supported. A list all changes appears, and you can choose to individually accept or reject each change. If you accept the update, you will update the assembly in the ECAD model with the currently loaded model configuration.

The Compare to ECAD Model command checks for the following component changes. All checks are based on the reference designators (REFDES)

Compare to ECAD Model does not recognize individual changes in the PC board itself. However, it does perform certain checks to compare the current PC board to the ECAD board part, and attempt to recognize whether it has changed or not. Simple checks for the quantity of restriction areas and drilled holes, the board name and the board revision are performed. Detected differences are displayed, and you have the option of performing the update, or not. If you accept the update, you will replace the PC board in the ECAD model with the current PC board.
