      </table><br><p class="para_topic">After you have defined a starting control point for the path, the other path creation modes become available. You may switch to another mode using the <b class="uiTerm">Mode</b> option menu, or by choosing the mode in the right&ndash;click menu on the screen.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> buttons become sensitive after you have created at least two control points. When you start to create a third control point, the <b class="uiTerm">Assign Default Corner</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Assign Default Elbow</b> options are used to determine the preview display of the next segment.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">If the <b class="uiTerm">Assign Default Corner</b> option is turned on, and you have defined a default elbow in the Routing <b class="uiTerm">Preferences</b>. then the next control may cause an elbow to be placed at the previous control point. An elbow will be placed at the previous control point if an elbow exists in the same part library node as the default elbow that matches all of the destination characteristics from the default stock, current specification characteristics, as well as the angle formed by the previous segment and the new segment.
      </p>

      <p class="para_topic">In order to ease the placement of default elbows, the <b class="uiTerm">Snap To Elbow Angles</b> option and <b class="uiTerm">Angle Tolerance</b> value allow you to force the new control point to automatically snap to a location that allows a valid placement of an elbow. When you move the cursor such that the angle formed by the new segment and the previous segment is within the value specified in the angle tolerance of any valid elbow angle, the control point is automatically projected to the nearest valid elbow angle. The list of valid elbow angles is derived from the elbows available in the part library. When the control point is snapped, a temporary text display shows the part number of the elbow that matches.

      <p class="para_topic">If an elbow cannot be placed at the previous control because (either the <b class="uiTerm">Assign Default Elbow</b> option is turned off, or no elbow matches the current angle, it&rsquo;s possible to assign a default corner to the previous control point.  If the <b class="uiTerm">Assign Default Corner</b> is turned on, then the corner specified in the Routing <b class="uiTerm">Preferences</b> will automatically be assigned at the previous control point.
