The purpose of the Electrical Connection Navigator is to provide the means for importing, editing and exporting connection and component list files and to keep track of routing status information from session to session.

The connection list information is necessary to assign wires and cables to paths in the assembly. The Connection Navigator maintains one entry for each wire (or conductor) in the work part. Each component (device or connector) referenced by a connection must have an entry in the component list and a Unique ID assigned to it to enable the routing of the connection. Various information is required to perform specific tasks in the Routing Electrical program. Routing Electrical uses the connection and component lists to identify a route for each connection and stores its connection and routing status information in the work part.
