      <p class="para_topic">Using the <b class="uiTerm">Parts List</b> produces a routing <b class="uiTerm">Bill of Material</b> (<b class="uiTerm">BOM</b>). Special attributes are used to compute and report cut lengths and standard quantity lengths. In the Routing applications, you account for unmodeled hardware such as nuts and bolts by creating attributes attached to invisible objects (UDOs). This topic defines how to use these attributes through the Routing <b class="uiTerm">BOM</b> interface.

      <div class="title_division">Accessing Routing Bill of Materials</div>
      <p class="para_division">To access the <b class="uiTerm">Bill of Materials</b> (<b class="uiTerm">BOM</b>) system interface, choose the <b class="uiTerm">BOM System Interface</b> button from the Routing Mechanical toolbar.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Parts list format definition</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Part List format used by Routing <b class="uiTerm">BOM</b> is a template found in the <b class="uiTerm">Template Palette</b> in the <b class="uiTerm">Resource Bar</b>. Drag and drop the template into your part, either in 3D space or on a drawing sheet, in order to define the format. If a template is not in the part file, the Routing <b class="uiTerm">BOM</b> writes to the <b class="uiTerm">Information Window</b> only.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">You can use the Routing <b class="uiTerm">BOM</b> Parts List template provided or you can modify it to suit your purposes. Note that a standard parts list format does not get modified by the Routing <b class="uiTerm">BOM</b> tool. In order to create a customized Routing <b class="uiTerm">BOM Parts List</b> template, you must start with one of the default templates, <code>routing_bom_metric.prt</code> or <code>routing_bom_english.prt</code>, and modify it.

                  <p class="para_note_body">The default templates define the WEIGHT column type as <b class="uiTerm">General</b>. If you want the sum of the weights when the quantity is greater than one, rather than the weight of a single piece, change the column type to <b class="uiTerm">Quantity</b>.
