Routing applications, Routing Mechanical, Routing Electrical and Routing Logical allow you to quickly define assemblies placed around and through other NX assemblies. These subassemblies typically define the systems that provide power or signals, dispose of waste, provide structural support, or enable general access to the devices in the assembly. For example, within an aircraft engine tubes are routed from the fuel tanks to various injection points around the engine or, within an automobile, wiring is required to supply power to the electric windows (and many other things as well).

Routing applications provide the tools to define the paths through the assembly, to assign stock (such as tubes and wires or cables) to these paths, and to place standard parts (for example, valves and connectors) to connect the various pieces of stock in the overall assembly. Many of the tools are common to all of the Routing applications documented under the heading General. Each of the applications has additional tools that are documented under the headings Electrical, Mechanical and Logical.

The actual location of this directory depends on your particular installation. The Routing Mechanical files are under a directory named
ugroute_mech
. The Routing Electrical files are located in a folder named
ugroute_elec
. The files are divided into subdirectories under these main directories.
