To enable parts list to calculate quantity of standard lengths you must include a standard length attribute on your stock. The easiest way to do this is to make the standard length attribute a Descriptor Characteristic in the part library tables. In this case, Routing will automatically assign the attribute to stock. You may also define the characteristic as a required characteristic or use NX user-defined attributes to assign the attribute.

The attribute name is STD_LENGTH. It has a real value, which represents the available standard length of the associated stock. To report standard lengths in a parts list, add the STD_LENGTH attribute to the set of attributes included in the parts list. Parts list will then divide the total cut length summed for a given part number by the STD_LENGTH value. The reported value is an estimate of the number of standard sections of stock, which will be required. Due to waste, the actual number will vary.
