      <p class="para_topic">Use the <b class="uiTerm">Formboard Annotation Tool</b> for creating annotations based on selection of single or multiple objects. See <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('routingtools/wiring_fmbd_ann_type.html');return(false);">Formboard Annotation Types</a> for descriptions of each type of annotation. Selection of NX objects filter, based on the <b class="uiTerm">Annotation Type</b> option. For <b class="uiTerm">Component</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Connector</b>, and <b class="uiTerm">Pin Listing</b> annotations, you can select any of the components identified in the component list. For <b class="uiTerm">Wire Bundle</b>, selection enables on any segment used in a wire. <b class="uiTerm">Nodal Path</b> annotations require selection of two nodes (named RCPs). <b class="uiTerm">Angular Dimensions</b> require selection of two segments. The <b class="uiTerm">Clock</b> annotation type allows selection of any component in the component list that is clocked to another component. See <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('routingtools/clock_part.html');return(false);">Clock Part</a> for more information. <b class="uiTerm">Component CGM</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Component Pattern</b> annotations allow selection of any component identified in the component list that also has the CGM_FILE characteristic or the PATTERN_FILE characteristic.

               <p class="para_td">This option specifies the type of drafting object to create. <b class="uiTerm">Plain Notes</b> are simple text annotations; <b class="uiTerm">Plain Labels</b> are simple text annotations that also have leaders. <b class="uiTerm">Plain Tabular Notes</b> are simple tabular notes. <b class="uiTerm">Associative Notes</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Labels</b>, and <b class="uiTerm">Tabular Notes</b> are drafting objects that use special expression values that you can update with <b class="uiTerm">Formboard Synchronization</b>.

               <p class="para_td">This area of the dialog box contains the list of columns that display in the annotation. Each entry corresponds to a column in the annotation, and indicates the name (or title) of the column. Each entry has a subentry that corresponds to the associative value for that column. Associative values determine the value displayed in the column, for each row in the actual annotation. In the dialog box shown above, the first row in the <b class="uiTerm">Configure Columns</b> area, has a column title of <b class="uiTerm">Unique ID</b>, and an associative value of unique_id.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">You can directly edit column names and associative values by slow double clicking on the value you want to edit. You can also change associative values by selecting the associative value subentry, and selecting the right&ndash;click menu somewhere in the <b class="uiTerm">Configure Columns</b> area. This launches a menu, which shows the value associative values. Selection of one of these menu items replaces the associative value with the value you select. The right&ndash;click menu can also be used to <b class="uiTerm">Move Up</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Remove</b>, or <b class="uiTerm">Move Down</b> entries. Each entry also has a check box, which indicates whether or not you should use the column in the annotation. If all column names are blank, or consist entirely of spaces, then the column title line will not add to the annotation.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">The width column indicates the width (in characters) of the column. Values are truncated or padded with spaces so that all column values have the specified number of characters. If the width is set to 0, then no padding or truncating performs on the value. We recommend setting the width to 0 for tabular notes, whose column widths configure in the spreadsheet.</p>

After the editor exits, the Drafting <b class="uiTerm">Create Leader</b> tool is launched (for <b class="uiTerm">Plain/Associative Labels</b>), and finally the <b class="uiTerm">Drafting Origin</b> tool is launched. 
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">For <b class="uiTerm">Clock Annotations</b>, if you turn <b class="uiTerm">Launch Editor</b> on, then the <b class="uiTerm">Specify Offset</b> dialog box starts. <b class="uiTerm">Arc Radius</b> determines the radius of the circle to create, the <b class="uiTerm">Tick Length</b> indicates the length of the tick marks to create in the circle, and the <b class="uiTerm">Angle Increment</b> indicates the angle increment to use when creating tick marks. The <b class="uiTerm">Point Tool</b> then starts to specify the origin of the created geometry.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">For <b class="uiTerm">Component CGM</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Component Pattern</b> annotations, the <b class="uiTerm">Point Tool</b> starts to specify the origin for the geometry of the annotation.
               </p>
               <p class="para_td">The <b class="uiTerm">Drafting Origin Tool</b> launches the <b class="uiTerm">Angular Dimension</b> annotations, to specify the origin of the angular dimension.
               </p>
