This happens by adding a Routing-specific feature into NX that is operated on each target stock and is fully associative to the tool stocks it uses.

Cope corner versus Cope feature

Cope Corner is a data object that represents the whole coping operation at an RCP where several stocks merge. A cope feature is a standard NX feature that operates on a single solid body, in this case, a stock sweep. There could be several cope features associated with a cope corner. For example, a cope corner may consist of an ordered list of stocks of 1, 2 and 3 which denotes that stock 2 is coped to stock 1 (or in Modeling terminology, stock 2 sweep is trimmed by stock 1 sweep. The stock 1 is known as the tool stock here), and stock 3 is coped to stocks 1 and 2 (for example, stock 3 is trimmed by tool stocks 1 and 2). In this instance, there exists two separate cope features: one on stock 2 and the other on stock 3.

Cope feature versus Trim feature

Cope feature is a global Boolean where the target sweep is subtracted by the tool sweeps in a body–to–body style, while trimming is generally known as a local operation where one has to specify which face or faces on the tool body are to be used to trim the target. One may use Assign Discontinuity to limit the scope of a cope feature when over–trim occurs (for example, both ends of a stock have been trimmed by the tool stocks when only one end is desired).
