      <p class="para_topic">Use the Read ECAD Model command to open, view and process ECAD models of PC boards, or PCB assemblies including components. When the Read command is executed, the board geometry, drilled holes and restriction areas, as well as component footprint, placement and orientation are read into PCB.xchange and checked for modeling errors and ECAD compatibility. The PCB Assembly appears in the graphics window. PCB.xchange supports IDF Versions 2, 3 and 4.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">To open an ECAD model:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose  <b class="uiTerm">File</b>&rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Read</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Read ECAD Model</b>. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter a path and file name for the file you want to open, or select the folder button to browse to the file.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select  either <b class="uiTerm">Board + Components</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Board Only</b> as appropriate.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>. A window pops up, displaying the  <em>Reading IDF File</em> messages. Check for warnings or errors, then close the window. 
            </p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Options</div>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Board + Components</b> reads the complete ECAD file, including both board and components. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Board Only</b> reads only the board, removing all components. 
            </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
