      <p class="para_topic">You can set the attributes for one or more components in order to define or modify the part number and placement/ownership. The attribute data is stored at the assembly component level in NX. The two attribute settings correspond to the two corresponding ECAD data fields. All newly-created components must have attributes defined, otherwise ECAD will not recognize them as components.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Working with component attributes</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the<b class="uiTerm"> Component Attributes</b> button on the PCB.xchange toolbar. The Component Attributes dialog box appears, filtered for components. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select one or more components on the board assembly.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a Placement/Owner attribute from the menu, or enter a part number attribute. If more than one component is selected, the settings are applied to all selected components. However, if the selected components have different part numbers, the part number field is disabled, and no part number can be modified or created. </p>

      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Options</div>
      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Placement/Owner:</b> The Placement/Owner attribute provides a reference for anyone who wants to modify the component part in the future.
      </p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The <b class="uiTerm">Unplaced</b> option means that the component location on the PCB has not yet been established or confirmed by a designer.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The <b class="uiTerm">Placed</b> option means that the component location on the PCB has been defined by a designer. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The <b class="uiTerm">MCAD</b> option means that the owner is MCAD. That is, only Mechanical CAD has the right to modify the component. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The <b class="uiTerm">ECAD</b> option means that the owner is ECAD. That is, only Electrical CAD has the right to modify the component. 
            </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Part Number:</b> The Part Number attribute is equivalent to the corresponding field in an IDF3 file.
