      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Use the <b class="uiTerm">Port</b> dialog box for creating and editing routing ports. You start this dialog box from <b class="uiTerm">Qualify Part</b> using a variety of methods, choosing the <b class="uiTerm">New</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Edit</b> buttons, and by the right-click menu options.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Port</b> dialog box contains selection steps with three options. The first step of the dialog box is for selecting the origin of the port. The item selected for this state is the item that the port is associative to, if possible. If you can use the object selected in the first step to determine an alignment vector, then the system will define the alignment vector automatically for the second step.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">The second step defines the alignment vector. If you specify an alignment vector that conflicts with the alignment vector determined in the first step, then the associativity to the geometry in the first step is broken. The third step is defines the rotation vector, which is optional.</p>

If you create a port, then the <b class="uiTerm">Engagement, Extension</b>, and <b class="uiTerm">Back Extension</b> all default to 0.0, and nothing selects.
