      </table><br><p class="para_topic">A Design Rule is a C function, which processes data from Routing and creates, modifies and deletes Violations. A Design Rule may use what ever methods necessary for checking the validity of objects (for example, external files, hard coded data, or even an external database.) Once a design rule function has created a violation object, the <b class="uiTerm">Design Rule Violation Browser</b> tool automatically identifies and manages the violation. Should the condition that caused the violation be removed, the design rule must delete the violation object.
