      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Parts</b> tab contains all of the preferences related to routing parts (fittings and fixtures). This includes options for preferred port placement and placement layers. The <b class="uiTerm">Parts</b> tab is available from both the <b class="uiTerm">Preferences&rarr;Routing</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Customer Defaults</b> dialog boxes.

      <div class="title_division">Layer options</div>
      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Layer Options</b> designate the layer where <b class="uiTerm">Routing Objects</b> place as components are added through <b class="uiTerm">Place Part</b>. You can choose <b class="uiTerm">Original</b>,<b class="uiTerm"> Work</b>, or <b class="uiTerm">As Specified</b>.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Use preferred port placement</div>
      <p class="para_division">When this preference is turned on and a port is found using the user-specified name or attribute values during <b class="uiTerm">Place Part</b>, the most favorable solution derived using this port is suggested as the first solution for placing the routing part. By default, this preference is off.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">This process takes extra processing so you probably want this turned on only if there are many placement possibilities for your parts.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Default elbow</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Create Path</b> tool provides the ability to place elbows while creating a path using the <b class="uiTerm">Simple</b> method. The elbow used is one from the same family as the <b class="uiTerm">Default Elbow</b> specified here.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">The placed elbow may have different <b class="uiTerm">Destination Characteristics</b>, such as size and angle, but otherwise has the same characteristics.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">Choosing the <b class="uiTerm">Specify Default Elbow</b> button launches the <b class="uiTerm">Specify Item</b> dialog box to let you select your default elbow.
