      </table><br><p class="para_division">Perform an auto route on a single connection by clicking on the <img align="bottom" src="graphics/symbol.gif" border="0"> symbol on the far left of the row. The method used, <b class="uiTerm">Pin Level</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Component Level</b>, is determined by the <b class="uiTerm">Auto Route Default</b> method set in the <b class="uiTerm">Wiring Preferences Navigator</b> tab.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">You can auto route one or more connections by choosing <b class="uiTerm">Auto Route</b> from the right-click menu when the connections are selected. Choose <b class="uiTerm">Pin Level</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Component Level</b>.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Auto Route Pin Level</b> will exclude paths to ports that are qualified as exclusive connection ports and currently have connections. <b class="uiTerm">Auto Route</b> also allows &ldquo;stacking&rdquo; of connections on non-exclusive ports.

      <p class="para_division"><b class="uiTerm">Auto Route</b> finds the shortest length path between the components, then calculates and updates the <b class="uiTerm">Length</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Cut Length</b> boxes. The <b class="uiTerm">Routed</b> box updates with A for all of the successfully routed connections.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">When you route a connection, stock creates automatically along the path. Stock is determined based on the values included in the connection list. <b class="uiTerm">Auto Route</b> attempts to identify a unique stock object based on values in the connection list, which match those of the stock part library view. If one unique stock object is determined, it is used. Otherwise, the default stock identified in <b class="uiTerm">Preferences</b> is used.

Modify the path segment leading to the connector/device port such that they meet tangentially to remedy this situation.

      </table><br><p class="para_division">You may manually route a wire by highlighting its row in the connection list and choosing <b class="uiTerm">Manual Route</b> (<b class="uiTerm">Component Level</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Pin Level</b>) from the right&ndash;click menu. It is then assigned, if only one possible path exists for the connection. If more than one possible path exists then the system lets you cycle through them and choose the one you want. If more than row highlights, each one presents in turn.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">Once you have identified the route, the system calculates and updates the <b class="uiTerm">Length</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Cut Length</b> boxes. The <b class="uiTerm">Routed</b> box updates with an M for all of the successfully routed connections.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">Manually routed connections are override &nbsp;<b class="uiTerm">Auto Route</b> functions. To override a manually routed connection, you must explicitly unroute the connection or manually route the connection again.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">Like <b class="uiTerm">Auto Route</b>, stock is determined based on values included in the connection list. <b class="uiTerm">Manual Route</b> attempts to identify a unique stock object based on values in the connection list, which match those of the stock part library view.       <p class="para_division">This function invokes an <b class="uiTerm">Edit Cut Length</b> dialog box, which displays the current cut length multiplier and offset values. From the dialog box you can modify these values or select from a list of existing values.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">This allows you to change the factors for calculating the cut length on a wire-by-wire basis.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">Cut Length</b> box displays a value representing the length of wire to cut when building the wire harness. This value is typically longer than the modeled length to provide slack and working length. The formula used to determine the value for cut length is:
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">Cut Length = MULTIPLIER*Length + OFFSET</p>
      <p class="para_division">Length is the modeled length of the wire (shown in the <b class="uiTerm">Length</b> box). MULTIPLIER is any decimal value greater than zero. OFFSET is any decimal value, positive or negative, in work part units.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">The Routing Electrical configuration file provides default values for MULTIPLIER and OFFSET. You can override these default values for all selected entries.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Enter new values and the value for cut length recalculates. For example, using the values shown in the dialog box above, and assuming a length of 100, the resulting value for cut length is 1.2*100+3 = 123.0.</p><a class="endOfDocLinks" href="row_blank.html">Hide</a><br></body>
