      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The <b class="uiTerm">Internal</b> function handles two conditions; a flange connection and a butt weld connection.
      </p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Flange Connection</b>: A <b class="uiTerm">Flange Connection</b> occurs when a port of the placed part is connected with another port and both ports have the characteristic CONNECTION_TYPE with a value of either &quot;FLANGE&quot; or &quot;FLANGED&rdquo;.
            </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">If the <b class="uiTerm">Callback</b> program determines a flange connection exists, it attempts to find information from a part table.&nbsp;If the characteristic FACE_TYPE of the placed part is &quot;RING_JOINT&quot; or &quot;RJ&quot;, the system looks at any part table under the PLV node named RING_JOINTS.&nbsp;Otherwise, tables under the node GASKET are searched.

                  <p class="para_note_body">In the sample installation, there is only one table under the node RING_JOINTS and one table under the node GASKET.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">The system attempts to match the following characteristics, matching the values provided by the placed part, in the given table(s):</p>
      <p class="para_topic">NPS</p>
      <p class="para_topic">FACE_TYPE</p>
      <p class="para_topic">CLASS</p>
      <p class="para_topic">GASKET_TYPE (provided by <b class="uiTerm">Piping Preferences</b>)
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">If an entry is found that matches all four criteria, that entry is used to determine the following:</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Gasket Part Number (PART_NUMBER) </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Gasket Thickness (GASKET_THK)</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Flange Thickness (FLAGE_THK)</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Face Depth (FACE_DEP)</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Flange Tolerance (FLANGE_TOL)</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Number of Bolts (NUM_BOLTS)</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Bolt Diameter (BOLT_DIA)</p>
      <p class="para_topic">These characteristics must be present in the gasket part table.</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Butt Weld Connection</b>: A <b class="uiTerm">Butt Weld Connection</b> occurs when a port of the placed part makes a connection with another port, and both ports have the characteristic CONNECTION_TYPE with a value of BUTT_WELD or &quot;BW&quot;.
            </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">A butt weld connection may need to have a weld ring included with it (if the piping preference is set), so this weld ring part should appear in the parts list.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">To find the appropriate weld ring, the system searches part tables under the PLV node WELDRING. The matching criteria are:</p>
      <p class="para_topic">NPS</p>
      <p class="para_topic">MATERIAL</p>
      <p class="para_topic">RATING</p>
      <p class="para_topic">If a match is found having the same values for these characteristics as the placed part, that entry is used to determine the weld ring part number.</p>
